Review Welcome Week - GIAGs and Socials

October 5, 2017

It was great seeing so many of you at our first trainings and socials of the year! Check out what we have been up to:

Give-It-A-Go Session 1 + Social

Our first GIAG was a huge success, with over 40 athletes turning up to try out the five disciplines we had on offer. Students could take part in a javelin session, try out sprints, middle-distance, long jump or a long-distance session. In the evening we had our first social of the year, which included some games in the park, and some drinks at Simmons Bar before heading to the SU and engaging in a trip to the legendary Zoo Bar after. Our club, we claim, is one of the most diverse ones in terms of year groups. Therefore it was especially nice to see so many people from different age groups and disciplines come along, because your social life at uni is just that much better when you join a sports team! Can you spot yourself on one of the pictures?

Give-It-A-Go Session 2 + Picnic

To give our (aspiring) members an idea of what a Saturday hills and cross country session looks like, we invited them to the beautiful park at Parliament Hill. The nice weather made this session even more enjoyable, and we had a nice group of people turning up for that and offered a sprints session as well! During a Picnic after the session, we had plenty of time to socialize and get to know our new members!

Our club, we claim, is one of the most diverse ones in terms of year groups and the many events we cater for. Therefore it was especially nice to see so many people from different countries, age groups and disciplines come along. Your social life at uni is just that much better when you join a sports team!

We hope you enjoyed the GIAGs and Socials just as much as we did! Can´t wait to see you at our next training sessions.

P.S. If you missed our GIAG, you´re more than welcome to join us for our training sessions and try out the events you´re interested in! Schedules are published each Sunday on our fb group and on our Website here.

See you soon!

Your Committee xx
